The Story of Gabriel’s Breeze
Gabriel’s Breeze is a 76,000-word historical fiction novel with suspense thriller overtones. Through dreams, the Archangel Gabriel calls three people, Sonny, Jenny, and Mo, to a hidden temple. An evil force speaking through dreams also calls three evil people to kill our protagonists before they learn how to save humanity. The chase is on in present-day California, and our three antagonists leave a trail of murder and mayhem to stop Christians, Jews, and Muslims from finding a sense of peace in a turbulent world.
While the story has a religious backdrop, it is not a religious book like The Exorcist, The Stand, Rose Red, or the miniseries Midnight Mass.
Benji, a killer and biker, and two low-life drug addicts, Rod and Sheila, dream of the demon who instructs them to find Sonny, Mo, and Jenny and kill them before they get to the chapel.
Our three protagonists are distant descendants of the Rodriquez family from 15th-century Spain, a time when Christians, Jews, and Muslims lived in harmony before the Spanish Inquisition. This theme of religious harmony is a beacon of hope in our turbulent world. The story follows Rodrigues family members who journey to the New World on Columbus’s fourth voyage and later Father Junipero Sierra who came to California to construct 21 missions along the coast from San Diego to San Francisco.
Gabriel is the only archangel to play a significant role in Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. In the Old Testament, Gabriel spoke with the prophet David, announced the births of John the Baptist and Jesus to Mary, and gave Mohammad the first verses of the Quran.
Except for the characters and plotline, the book is historically accurate and draws the reader into the chase and the intense battle between good and evil. Will Gabriel, according to the Bible, blow his horn, signaling the end of humanity, or will good triumph?
Scot Crocker is working on a sequel to Gabriel’s Breeze called Gabriel’s Gift. It follows Jenny, Mo, and Sonny through the hierarchy of the world’s major religions, who through dreams, discover what the Knights Templar left behind.
